Laughin' it up
Thursday night we went to see Chelsea Handler's stand up comedy routine. Probably not wise to repeat any of the humor...but needless to say we laughed our heads off. Check her out on "E!" on her show Chelsea Lately.

My cousin Michelle & her husband Jason welcomed their second son into the world this morning...Conner Andrew LeCount joins big brother Cooper! Congratulations to the LeCount family, we can't wait to meet the little man!

American Teen
There is a documentary film coming out about my home town - Warsaw, IN on July 25th. I'm kind of shocked that Warsaw, IN was chosen as the location for this movie but I couldn't agree more that it is the perfect place to show an "American Teen" in it's true form. You can watch the trailer below.
"This was the only documentary we had a chance to see this year, and we picked well! I found myself getting so absorbed in the stories of these 4 mid-western teenagers that I forgot temporarily that they were actual people. It is unbelievable that the director was able to catch these kids on camera saying and doing the things they did. One of the characters was so unsympathetic that we wondered why on earth she would act the way she did. I can't help but wish the director had included a "what are they doing now" note at the end. These kids are the same age as my oldest daughter, and perhaps that's why I felt connected to them, but I truly do want to know if they followed through with their plans. We also enjoyed the occasional lapse into animation the film included; some were funny, some were disturbing, but we felt they were well done, if a bit slick. This was by far our favorite movie of the 10 we viewed at Sundance this year. I wish the director had been able to come for Q&A."

Baseball Season has begun!
We spent a fun weekend out with friends, also went to our first Cubbies game of the season! On Saturday evening we went to the Vine restaurant & martini bar with Brooke & Steve for dinner. They are always good about getting us to new places...
On Sunday, we went to see our Cubbies sweep the Pirates! Eric & Steph joined us for the game. Even though it was a gorgeous day, our seats can be deceiving in the spring - we were freezing! Steph had to go to one of the shops at Wrigley to get a hat and socks! They had sold out of blankets at that stand, so obviously there were a few other fans that felt the same way we did.

Because of You
I just wanted to share that because of your generosity, my Relay for Life team is currently the leading team for the Gurnee Relay! We've contributed a total of $4,710 to the American Cancer Society and we still have until July to continue raising money. The 2nd place team is $2,700 behind us, having raised $2,059! I am currently the top participant at $835 raised, but I'm really hoping to reach my $1,000 goal. As I've said before this is a disease that is very close to my heart and I want to do whatever I can to help fight it! See the previous post for one very good reason to donate! Thank you again! 2008...A Better Year
We vowed that 2008 would be a better year for our family and it's really turning out to be wonderful! If you remember, Andon's last scan showed an amazing decrease in size however there were still 2 tumor spots on his brain. Yesterday's scan is only showing one tumor left and it's very small!!! It hasn't changed in size, so the doctors are getting some other opinions to see if it is even an active tumor. We are so excited about the latest results and still have complete faith in a full miracle healing for our little man! Thank you for the continued prayers for Andon, we know that is what has gotten him to this point. He's defied all the odds stacked against him and that is why he is SupermANDON!!!

Nap Time
Nap time is a norm at our house on Sunday afternoons. I usually am not the best napper so mine is usually a 20 minute power nap, but the boys of the household have no problems napping for an hour or two even if it's all together on the same couch (sorry Cameron, it was just too cute):

Ethan Powell
I've been following the story of Ethan Powell since last February. Ethan was diagnosed with leukemia at 2 months old and battled this horrible disease for just over a year. Ethan sadly lost this battle around noon today. I'm not sure why I feel so close to this family and their story when I've never met them. Please keep them in your prayers for comfort during this time. You can check out his website if you're interested, it's listed on the right hand side of our blog.
