A Weekend with Grandma Pam

My mom came in over the weekend to hang out with little ol' us! On Friday we just hung out around the neighborhood and cooked out for dinner. On Saturday we went to the Kohl's Children's museum and out to lunch. We did the Chicago Children's museum on Navy Pier a few weeks ago and that was a bit overwhelming for Dane, but the Kohl's museum was much smaller and perfect for him. He loved it!

Cameron's Birthday Celebration

To round out the weekend with the Zehring clan, we celebrated Cameron's birthday at the Arlington Park Racetrack. This year we did something a little different for Cameron's birthday...we reserved a suite at the horse races. It was a fun time and Cameron won on a boxed trifecta...$439!!! Thank you to everyone who was able to make it and to those of you who couldn't...we missed ya!

Zehring Clan Visit

On Thursday, June 17 Janel, Andon & Presley made the trip to visit us for a couple days. On Thursday we attempted to go to a splash park that was ABSOLUTELY packed with older kids. Needless to say, we left and made our own splash park in the backyard...they were a bit overwhelmed by all the big kids throwing buckets of water on each other, screaming and running around. We also managed to have a fun deck dance party (see video). On Friday, we packed up the 3 kiddos and went to the Brookfield zoo. It was kind of a bust...3 tired, hot, whiny kiddos doesn't make for an awesome time and we threw in the towel after a couple hours. We did manage to catch the dolphin show and all of the kids were actually pleasantly excited about the dolphins. Janel & I were sweating buckets by the time we got back to the car...it was a VERY HOT 93 and we were glad we decided to forgo our "fun" trip!

A Weekend at the Lake

During the weekend of Jun 12th and into Tuesday, June 15th, we took over the lakehouse from Tim & Teresa to have a little family getaway. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate at all, but we managed to have a relaxing time. Cameron & Dane did a little fishing, Dane actually did get to take a dip in his little pool between rainstorms and we made it into Madison, WI for an afternoon and dinner at the Great Dane brewery. Thank you Tim & Teresa for letting us have the lakehouse to get away for a couple days!

Happy Father's Day!!

I am a bit behind on my posting...been pretty busy lately! Anyway, I will catch up this week but in the meantime I wanted to get on to say "Happy Father's Day!!" Cameron just keeps getting better at this fatherhood thing and I look forward to seeing all the fun we'll have as Dane grows.

Another Sunday Funday at Wrigley!

Last Sunday we went to watch the Cubbies with my old college roomie Jackie and her husband Denis. Unfortunately, we don't get the opportunity to see them as often as we would like but it's always fun when we're together!! Thank you Jackie & Denis for joining us for a fun afternoon!
