Viva Las Vegas

On Friday, March 14th, I woke up to Elvis singing "Viva Las Vegas" from Cameron's phone. This wasn't his normal alarm. I quickly found out that I had an early birthday surprise coming that day. We were heading to Vegas for the weekend. Cameron's mom came over to stay with the boys and a friend of mine had come to pack my bags the night before. We did Vegas in a much more relaxed way than we had done in the past. Nice dinner, couples massage and the "Rock of Ages" live show....throw in a little black jack and a couple hours by the pool and that was our weekend!
Ran into my all time fave in Old Vegas:
Dinner Friday...we should have taken the picture before we ate the cake!
 Our view...looked awesome at night:
One of my favorite movies is now a live show!

Changes

I am very excited to announce on Cameron's behalf that after almost 14 years with Intercall, Cameron has accepted a position with Salesforce.com. He begins his new adventure on April 7th. Change is always hard...especially after 14 years. Intercall has been amazing and it's incredibly hard for Cameron to walk away...we've made great friends through Intercall and it will forever be part of our life. We are so very proud of all of his accomplishments, he works very hard for our family and he deserves this!

I think this email from Cameron's boss is a good indication of how respected he is and how much he will be missed:

"Mrs. Jennifer Hatten –
It is with deep regret that I deny your husband’s resignation!  Due to his many years of success and hard work I don’t feel comfortable releasing him from InterCall. And since both you and I serve as Cameron’s current bosses I thought it only fair to notify you directly of my un-acceptance of his resignation.  I’ll expect him in his seat on Monday, April 7 or there will be a severe pay raise!!!
Seriously though, I’m going to miss both of you a ton.  You are part of the InterCall family now and forever.  Good luck to you and the three boys!  Don’t be strangers."

Kale's big boy room

Kale has been in a bed since last summer. We finally got around to decorating his big boy room. When Kale was born a dear friend gave us a quilt that had a surfer / Hawaiin theme. We loved it so much that we themed his room after it. So...almost 9 months after putting him in a bed, we finally blogged about it!

Playing with Boys

I loved reading this...it's exactly me and my boys. I need to get better at playing with them, but the older they get the more I realize I don't know how!

Blackhawks vs. Penguins / stadium series

Last Saturday, Cameron and I took on polar vortex 2014 at the Blackhawks game. The NHL does a stadium series...and this game happened to be at Soldier Field. Outside. In a blizzard. The NHL was in meetings all day trying to figure out if they should cancel the game. Thankfully they didn't. There were 13 of us total that went to the game...only 4 of us were Blackhawks fans. Thankfully the Blackhawks won. We were all bundled up in many, many layers including snow pants!! They are all the rage this winter. And I will say that I was pretty comfortable until the wind changed and my face was being pummeled by snow. It was a good time!

Blizzard started well before we left our friend's house....

Dane's 5th birthday

Dane woke up on his 5th birthday and opened up his presents from us. More Transformer Rescue Bots. I knew they liked the cartoon, but had no idea what a home run we would hit with their birthday presents. They now have all 6 rescue bot characters and they play with them all. the. time. We also met Tim & Teresa at Lonestar steakhouse to celebrate Dane's birthday.

Excuse the blurriness...constant state of motion and iphone camera don't mesh.
