The Big Move

As many of you read earlier on the blog, we've sold our house. We close today (June 28th) but we did move out of the house last Friday, June 22nd. What a day and weekend we've had! The last move we made was from a one bedroom condo in Chicago...we had no kids and we had (literally) one living room set of furniture, a desk and a queen size bed with dresser and armoire. We rented a truck and moved ourselves! This time we moved from a 4 bedroom home with a basement and we also added two little boys to the equation...CRAZY amounts of stuff came from that house and I am actually not at all a pack rat. I purge toys and clothes every 6 months...where did it all come from?!?! We are now settled in a rental until we find our next home.

Soccer Camp Week June 18-22

This summer we signed Dane up for a week long soccer camp. It was just one hour each day and Kale & I just stayed to watch him. Cameron was even able to go on his last day. It took one short hour for Dane to become soccer obsessed. They each got a tee shirt and a soccer ball to keep so he would show us all his new little tricks with his new ball every day. This week he has added "Coach Steve" to his personas which currently include "Jake" from Jake & the Neverland Pirates and "Diego" from Go Diego Go. Needless to say, he loved soccer camp and I am guessing he will be asking us to put him in another soccer class or camp soon.

One Big Catch Up Post

So...obviously we are currently buried in a sea of boxes and we're just looking forward to getting out of this house and getting organized in our rental and eventually when we find our new home. June has been a super crazy month! With all that said, I have several blog posts to catch up on so I'm going to roll them all into one giant catch up post!

We flew out on May 31 to CA for a wedding. We took the boys and rented a house and Cameron's cousin came along to watch the boys for us. Kale woke from his nap on May 30 rocking a fever. I ran him to the doctor that afternoon to rule out an ear infection because I didn't want him to fly with an ear infection. They thought it was hand, foot & mouth and said his rash should show up within the next 48 hours. He handled the flight well even though he had a temp of 101. Tylenol and advil became even better friends of mine on this trip. The rash never came and his fever finally broke on Saturday, June 2. The following day, he got a rash on his ears, neck and torso...roseola?? I think but still not sure. All that said, we did make it to the wedding on Saturday, June 2nd and it was fabulous. It was held at a Vineyard in Yountville, CA (Napa region). The ceremony took place in a courtyard with a lilly pond fountain in the center. We ate under a canopy of leaves, vines and white lights. It was gorgeous....(see below for some pictures of our time in CA).

Mom, Janel and the kids came to help us pack up after we got back from CA. They were such a HUGE help and packed up so much for us!
This past Saturday, June 16th Dane and I had the opportunity to ride on a float in the Libertyville days parade for his school. Dane was so excited about it so we jumped on and road through a HUGE crowd in Libertyville. The parade was quite large with a total of 100 floats participating.

Now I think we're caught up on the big events in our life as of late. Aside from all of this, we've been spending our days packing up and playing in the pool or sprinkler. I hope you're all having a fantastic summer! Hopefully I can manage to update more often once we're moved into our rental.

SOLD!!!

Forgive the extreme lack of posting...it will get worse before it gets better. I have things to catch up on like the amazing wedding we attended in CA last weekend, but the night before we left for our trip we signed all of the paperwork for the sale of our home. FINALLY!! We have had it on the market off & on for 3 years and been through 3 real estate agents and this one did it for us! We had it on the market for 3 weeks and had 3 offers!! So...we are crazy busy with getting everything ready for the closing set for June 28th! We have to pack up a 4 bedroom home by the 28th....and we have no place to live while we are searching for our new home (yet!). We have a couple prospects so I am sure one of them will come through....anyway, please pray I don't lose my mind and that we find a short term rental! More to come on the wedding from last weekend....
