Field Trip Friday

Last Friday Dane's class had a field trip to Didier Farms...a pumpkin farm with corn mazes, hay rides, carnival rides, pony rides, camel rides, an amazing petting zoo and a great store offering pumpkin and apple goodies. We've been there before, but it's been a couple years. Kale & I tagged along on the class outing.

Destin, FL Ladies Weekend

The weekend after we returned from Disney World, I jumped back on a plane to celebrate Cameron's aunt Marcia's birthday in Destin, FL. We had a great, very relaxing weekend! Days on the beach, evenings out to dinner....the weather was absolutely amazing and I really look forward to going back. I understand now why people fall in love with Destin!

Fall Fun (and some not so fun)!!!

First up...the not so fun part. Kale's first dentist appointment was last Saturday. Dane has always done really great at the dentist...Kale not so much. We literally had to lay him down on top of me and I had to hold him down while he cried and screamed. I thought for sure they would just throw in the towel and let us go. If Cameron hadn't been there with me, I probably would have told them to clean his teeth on the next go around and leave him alone. It's strange because Kale LOVES to brush his teeth so it was surprising that he wouldn't let them.

What exactly are her plans with me?
Maybe if I don't look she will leave me alone.
We thought if he watched Dane first that he would be fine....but our plan failed miserably.
 Dane did great!
We've done some pumpkin decorating: painting & carving.
The boys and I went to a pumpkin bash while Cameron was out of town. Songs, crafts and a flashlight scavenger hunt! And they each came home with a baby pumpkin.

Dance dance dance dance dancin' machine!!
Flashlight scavenger hunt!
They are incredibly excited about trick or treating next week. I will give you a hint to their costumes...

Disney 2013 Part 2

As I stated in the previous post, we spent 5 awesome days at Disney World with the Polks. We hit all 4 parks and spent most afternoons by the pool to cool off. We took it pretty slow at the parks and probably didn't get to everything the kiddos would have enjoyed, but after a couple hours we were all so hot and cranky that the pool sounded much more appealing. But we had a great time!

Just like Daddy with 2 suitcases. I love the way he looks at Cameron in this picture, pure adoration.
We ate dinner at the Biergarten restaurant at Epcot...the boys danced to the band while Barrett slept in the stroller!!
And Christy lovingly volunteered Cameron to be in a mini movie on a behind the scenes tour of Hollywood Studios. Then he was volunteered by the other volunteers to "scream like a little girl"...he did a pretty good job!
We look so forward to this trip every year and as always, we had a wonderful time. It was great to have the Polks along for the ride! There are so many more pictures of our time there, but I think I will stop with these.

Disney 2013

Last week we jetted off on our annual trip to Disney World! This year we had the pleasure of Jeff, Christy and Barrett joining us. We had a fabulous time...the weather was hot hot hot so we spent quite a bit of time at the pool. We also stayed at the Beach Club Resort which was a first. They had an amazing pool with a little sandy beach area that was perfect for the boys. It is getting late and I am leaving on a jet plane again tomorrow for a ladies weekend, but I wanted to get our Disney trip posted before leaving! There are many many more pictures to sort through so there will likely be another Disney post coming up!

We are Gladiators!!

On Saturday, Sept 28th Cameron and I participated in the Gladiator Assault Challenge. 7.5 miles, 30 obstacles....it was grueling. Even Cameron compared it to running a marathon which made me feel so much better because I was extremely slow. Cameron finished in just under 2 hours....1 hr. 57 minutes or something crazy like that. I finished in 3 hours, 20 minutes. Partly because my running partner started cramping up at mile 4. So we took it slow....which I was totally ok with. My goal was to finish and I did! We don't have many pics of Cameron because his bib # was on his back so the pro photographer doesn't have any pics listed for him and no one on our team finished before him to snap pics. This was my final challenge to myself...I am hanging up my muddy running shoes (unless I can find a race of all obstacles, I would be so into that).
