Tuesday evening fun!

So...our precious Cubbies once again disappoint, but the games are still fun to go to! On Tuesday evening Cameron and I had evenings out...he at the Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam lead singer) concert with Eric and me at the Cubs game with my old college roomy Alicia! The weather was great...a perfect night to take in a Cubbies game. Too bad they lost again.

Things I Never Thought I'd Say....

1. Don't saw your brother! (Plastic saw, not as traumatizing as it sounds)
2. You only go pee pee in your diaper or on the potty.
3. Don't lay on your brother!
4. Dane - the baby can't eat cheerios...or goldfish crackers...or fruit snacks. (insert the ever popular "why" here)
5. Please don't stand on the dishwasher door (insert the ever popular "why" here).
6. Please don't stand on the coffee table (insert the ever popular "why" here).
7. Please don't take your diaper off.
8. Please don't put that bug in your mouth (WHY?)...it's dead.

Kale's 4 month check up

Kale had his 4 month check up on Friday. After we got home, I went back in the blog to Dane's 4 month check up. It is so funny to read how similar they really are! Kale started rolling over back to tummy about a week ago and Dane was doing it too. Kale weighed in at 15 lbs, 5 oz...Dane was 16 lbs, 10oz so there is a significant weight difference!! Dane must have been a real chubber! Both were 26 inches at the check up. Kale fell into the 50-75th percentile for weight and 75-90th for height.

Our week in review

We had a crazy busy week...summer obviously started!
On Tuesday evening, Cameron and I went to a concert for his birthday. We saw Ray LaMontange at Millennium Park in Chicago. That was our first Millennium Park concert and I would highly recommend going if you ever get the chance. A gorgeous park in downtown Chicago with the Lake Michigan breeze blowing and high rise buildings on 2 sides. It was a great concert venue!

On Wednesday morning Dr. Critter Ridder came to rid us of the raccoon that nested in our attic. We had been hearing scurrying above our front room so Cameron went outside to inspect and watched the mama raccoon scale the front of our house onto the roof. So...we obviously called an exterminator and asked him to come as soon as he could. Trap was set on the roof and Dr. Critter Ridder confirmed that they had nested in the attic. Strangely enough, she moved her babies out on Tuesday evening while we were at the concert...must have sensed that the critter ridder was coming!! So he is coming back on Monday to sanitize our attic and attach an attic fan cover to our roof so no more rodents can get in! Our reasons to get rid of these raccoons very quickly is obvious...On Thursday evening we hosted Cameron's team for dinner. Country ribs on the grill for 12 coming up!! We had a fun evening with team WII (Wisconsin, IL & IN) and Dane and Kale were both absolutely wiped out from all the attention...Kale even slept in until 7:15 without making a peep (he usually gets up around 6 for a bottle).

Arlington Park Horse Races

Last Sunday Cameron and I spent the afternoon with our friends at the Arlington Park horsetrack. None of us were very lucky in our winnings but we did have a great time with Nicole, Luke, Joe & Christine! Thanks to our great neighbors for letting the boys come play with your kiddos for the afternoon! For the first time I can remember, we had to beg, plead and bribe Dane to leave their house....he's usually pretty easy to take home!

A Little Catching Up...

It is very rare that I go for over a week without posting, however I find myself in this position today. With that said, I have some catching up to do! We had a great Memorial day weekend! Cameron had Friday off of work so we went into Chicago and spent the day on Navy Pier. We went to the Children's museum, rode the giant Ferris Wheel (a bit intimidating with a 2 year old who doesn't like to sit still), Dane drove "Thomas the Train" and then we met up with Jeff, Christy & Barrett because they were flying out of O'Hare on Saturday morning! We stupidly attempted to put Dane in a "big boy bed" at the hotel that night so none of us got much sleep. Poor Cameron had to get up Saturday morning to run the Soldier Field 10 mile and none of us were able to make it to cheer him on because I didn't want to wake the boys up. Cameron ran a great race even on very little sleep...10 miles in 1 hour, 15 minutes!

On Saturday afternoon, we headed up to Whitewater, WI to spend the rest of the weekend at Cameron's parent's lakehouse. Dane got to go on a boat ride when the weather finally straightened up and also got to go fishing a few times over the weekend. He helped Cameron catch many bluegill, a northern and a walleye. He loved it and the first thing out of his mouth when he woke up on Monday morning was "I catch a Nemo!" Because we had such a busy weekend, we took a lot of pictures so I've created a montage for your viewing pleasure!
