Congratulations Stookey Family!

Our dear friends, Jeannette & JW Stookey, welcomed twins on leap year! Hayden & Hailey Stookey made their grand entrance this morning...congratulations to the happy family!

Job Change

Today I am very excited to share that I have accepted a home based sales position with the Lake Lawn Resort in Delavan, WI. I will work from home about 95% of the time with 2 days per month on property, which is only about an hour away. I am excited to get back to hotel sales and this position affords me some luxuries that we need right now!
1) flexibility - with all the doctor's appts I have dealing with my crappy ovaries, I need flexibility with my work days.
2) $$$$ - unfortunately, the Hatten babies aren't coming for free so any bump in salary is helpful!
So if you want a place to "vacation" within driving distance - LET ME KNOW! Or if you know any medical companies looking for a rockin' place to hold a meeting / retreat whatever - LET ME KNOW!! Zimmer, Biomet, Medtronic...come to WI for your meetings! Okay, I am finished shamefully plugging my new company!

BON JOVI CONCERT!!

Saturday night found me at the Bon Jovi concert with Teresa (my MIL), Teresa's sister Marcia & Marcia's daughter Jamie. We had a blast!! Daughtry opened for Bon Jovi (yes, the American Idol) and then Bon Jovi hopped on stage. Even though he's been around since I was a little kid, he can still ROCK IT OUT! Thank you Teresa for the great Christmas gift!! Thank you Jamie & Marcia for making the trip up for the concert! See below for pics and a short sampling of songs:

Valentine's Day Surprise

My wonderful hubby surprised me yet again with a weekend in Chicago for Valentine's day. Friday evening we went to dinner with my college roomies and stayed at the new Trump Tower Hotel. We even got upgraded to a suite for no reason! Saturday we spent the day shopping the "Magnificent Mile" and then met Tim & Teresa for the Jersey Boys broadway show. Even though I ruined my surprise ahead of time with my inability to relax when I don't know what's going on (I'm anal and have to make sure everything is taken care of - I can't help it!!)...it was a very fun weekend! A much needed weekend away...thank you, Cameron! A much better gift than the I HEART JEN boxers I got for Cameron! Thank you, Jackie, Alicia & Josh for meeting us for dinner! Thank you Tim & Teresa for including us in the Jersey Boys show! See below for pictures:

By the way...I had a cute valentine on here with a puppy & a heart. I never should have given Cameron the password...he put up this creepy, bald cupid! I'm leaving it because it's actually kind of funny!

Blizzard 2008

Well, it truly is a blizzard up here! We have gotten at least an inch per hour since about 7:30 this morning. O'Hare cancelled 1,000 flights today. It has pretty much been a white out all day! Since we have 4 wheel drive, I decided to venture out to see how bad the roads were...I didn't get very far. The news just confirmed our total for the day: 13.5 inches! We've gotten over a foot since this morning and it's still snowing! I'm obviously stuck at home with our dogs and VERY bored so, I made this so you all could share in our blizzard!

Incredibly Inspiring Blogs

I have been given links to 3 different blogs that I've been following. I can't remember who shared them with me but they are so awe inspiring that I wanted to share them with you. The first blog is about a couple (Nate & Tricia) who struggled to conceive their first baby due to Tricia's cystic fibrosis. As they were waiting for Tricia's double lung transplant, they found out she was pregnant. Tricia delivered a beautiful little premie girl, Gwynneth, at 24 weeks, 4 days. The baby is doing miraculously well and they are currently waiting on Tricia's double lung transplant. If you're interested please click here to read their incredible story.

The other blogs (there are actually 2 with similar stories) are about 2 different couples who struggled to conceive because of the woman's endometriosis - obviously something we can relate to. They both delivered quadruplets in the fall. You can read about these quads by clicking here and here.

I have yet another SNOW DAY as Chicago is in the midst of blizzard 2008!! We're supposed to get up to 20 inches in the northern suburbs - CRAZY! So - there might be several new posts today.

HAPPY 28th BIRTHDAY, JANEL!!!

Janel is 28 today...careful, little sis - you're approaching the old age of 30!! Things change & shift when you hit 30 and it's not quite as easy to keep the oreo cookies off the thighs! :)

Andon's going to be a BIG brother!

I was sworn to secrecy for a while, but I finally got approval from Janel to share the news: Janel is preggers and Andon is going to be a big brother in August! Exciting news for the Zehring clan, right? We can't wait to meet the littlest Zehring late this summer! Congratulations to Brian, Janel & Andon - 2008 is looking so much better than 2007! Keep the good news coming! Love you guys!

Facelift

We got a facelift...do you like?? Cameron put together our very beachy, cool header because we decided we needed a change for the new year! Hopefully 2008 will have many beachy, cool vacations in it's future!
