So the king of pop has passed on...kind of weird to have the first BIG celebrity of my generation gone. I remember my mom talking about the day Elvis died and what a shocking, heartbreaking day that was. When I read online that MJ had died, I wouldn't have been more shocked if a stranger walked into my house and smacked me with a 2x4! What an unexpected death! No matter how weird he was or what went on in the last 15 years of his life, I don't think anyone can disagree with the fact that he was a talented music man and dancer. Really, who else created a dance as popular and well known as the "moonwalk"? I remember the wall size poster my cousin had of him on her bedroom wall when we were little and I remember renting "The Making of Thriller" from the video store over & over & over again. Without question, the man was an icon...a weird one but an icon nonetheless.
Andon's MRI today was even better than the last one! He's still free & clear of cancer, but his scar tissue is starting to shrink as well!! Thank you for the continued prayers for Andon!
Happy First Father's day, Cameron...you're a wonderful dad and Dane absolutely adores you! I know they'll be many challenges ahead in raising our child, but I wouldn't want to be sharing this responsibility with anyone else! Also - a BIG Happy Father's day to both of our terrific dads...Dennis & Tim!
Dane had his 4 month check up this morning...he weighed in at 16lbs, 10 oz and 26 inches long. He continues to be in the 90th percentile for height and the 75th for weight. He was a real trooper with his shots...kind of whimpered on the first one and cried for just a minute with the second. We get to start him on cereal tonight so I'm sure we'll have some funny pictures and video footage to show very soon! He has mastered rolling onto his tummy but that is as far as he gets, he can't roll back. Most of the time when we check on him or get him from a nap or in the morning, he's on his tummy. He seems to sleep better that way because his naps have gone from 1 hour to around 2 hours. He's in such a fun stage and he is so mesmerized by everything around him. He reaches for things now and seems to know what he's doing with his hands. He loves his bath and splashes around in it for as long as we let him. We're checking into baby swim classes to see if he truly is a water bug. He loves to sit up (always assisted) and thinks he's pretty big stuff. The Dr. did confirm that he is NOT teething and that the classic symptoms of teething generally start at around 4 months, even if they aren't actually getting any at that point in time.
So many of you have followed Andon's story through our blog and prayed him into getting as far as he has! We're asking for prayers once again as he goes into minor surgery on Thursday, June 18th to remove his port. The port is how they have accessed him for blood work and to administer chemo. Also, Andon's next MRI is next Tuesday, June 23rd. Please continue to pray for clear scans...he's 7 months out of treatment and we expect to continue getting wonderful news! Thank you for all the prayers and support!

Well, I said I was going to be better about posting family member's birthdays but I've continued to neglect them! Sorry to our immediate family, I will try to do better. There is one birthday that I have to post about...my dear hubby turns 32 today! He's a couple months behind me in that category, but I just can't help but wonder - when did we hit our 30s? I can't believe we're already almost 15 years out of high school! Happy birthday to the best husband and father! Our son's face lights up when you walk in the door and it just melts my heart! Thank you for working so incredibly hard so I can live out my dream as a stay at home mom! Dane & I appreciate you so much and I feel very lucky to be at home raising our baby boy! We love you, Cameron!
