Coming Up...Napa Nuptials!!

In June we are very excited to be attending a wedding in Napa Valley, CA! This weekend I attended the bridal shower for miss Laura at a cute little bakery in Chicago. It was a super cute ladies afternoon tea theme...with champagne of course! It was fun to get dressed up and head into the city!

A Weekend with the Polks

Last weekend, Barrett, Christy and Jeff came to visit! They got in Friday evening and stayed through Sunday. Jeff had a tractor sale nearby in WI to attend Saturday so Christy and Barrett came with us to the boys' swimming lessons. We also went to the park Saturday afternoon to feed the geese and play at the playground. Once Jeff got back, we packed up the kiddos and went out to grab dinner. On Sunday we went to good ol' Bass Pro as well as a mini reptile zoo and the Rainforest Cafe for lunch. Thank you to the Polks for making the trip...as always, it was so great to have you!

Swimming Lessons

Both boys just started swimming lessons. Kale is still in the baby class which means Cameron or I have to be in the pool with him. Big boy Dane has upgraded to being in the pool by himself with instructors. Both boys LOVE the water and are super excited about being in the pool. This summer will be so much fun with our little fish!

Easter Weekend

This Easter weekend we went back to Leesburg to visit the family. The Zehrings found 3 baby bunny rabbits in their yard so they had them in a cage in the garage just waiting for our arrival! Our dear son pulled a "Lenny" from the movie "Of Mice and Men" and tended the rabbits a bit too hard. One of the 3 didn't survive the night after we arrived...Dane was way too excited about the baby bunnies and every time the bunny touched his hand, he squealed and either dropped it or tossed it in the air in all the excitement. Poor bunnies! Outside of the excitement of baby bunnies, we spent the weekend riding around on the Zehrings fun motorized toys, taking ranger rides, had a Saturday afternoon fire and just spent time with family. We did miss out on spending time with Jeff, Christy & Barrett but her family was also in town...we are excited to have them visiting us this coming weekend!

Look who learned how to use the train whistle....

Easter Eggs!

Although his hands now look like he's turning into the Hulk, Dane had fun decorating Easter eggs with Grandma Teresa this week!

Dane-isms

As I've stated before, this blog serves as a journal for our life. I don't scrapbook and I don't keep any baby books. This is it. I've been very bad about blogging about day to day things that happen here, things that are hilarious to us but might not be to you. Either way, I have promised myself that I will get better about it. Too many things happen that I don't want to forget and I know I will...so, here are a few of the funny things that Dane has shared with us the past couple days.

***"mommy, I have a tail." when questioned about said tail, he (of course, he's a boy) grabbed the tail that resides in the front of his body. then he one upped his own statement by sharing that Kale has a tail too.

***"mommy, I pick my nose in bed." this one doesn't really need explanation except that he picks his nose constantly and it's completely habit. most of the time he doesn't even know his finger is in his nose.

***"mommy, when I get big I can drink coffee too." one would think I'm a coffee-holic from this statement, but I only have one cup in the morning...apparently it looks cool! :)

***"time to go outside, oh yeah, oh yeah". this is spoken in the exact likelihood of Pauly D from Jersey Shore and it typically goes with anything, not just going outside. It could be "time to eat wunch, oh yeah, oh yeah" or "time for bed, oh yeah, oh yeah". And if you don't know how Pauly D says it, please google or youtube it because it makes it all the more hilarious coming out of a 3 year old's mouth.

***"looking good out there, guys!" this was stated to the construction crew that was redoing our neighbor's roof. And yes, the window that he was standing in front of was wide open. and yes, he YELLED this statement at the men. I am sure they got a chuckle.

And Kale has things to say now as well. He does have a few words that we can understand and he points at things a lot. Kale can say momma, dadda, uh oh, all done and he mimics us a lot. I also think he says Dane, but I also feel like he calls him different things (probably based on how Dane is treating him at the time).
